• Classroom Facilities

    The classrooms are equipped with SMART Boards. The Higher Secondary School block has 32 ’Smart Classrooms’ where 11 Smart LED panels and Smart Document Cameras are also installed. Wi-Fi access points are available to provide wireless coverage to all the classrooms. The wireless broadband available in the school has a bandwidth of 100 Mbps. Students of Grades 6 to 12 are given personal Hewlett Packard [HP] laptops. The new laptops comprise a 14.5 inch screen, 4 GB memory and 1 TB hard disk. Students of Grade 6 were given 7th generation HP laptops.

  • Library

     In all, there are four libraries located in different sections of the school. The collection includes books, newspapers, magazines, kindles, desktop computers, reference materials, CDs and DVDs.

    The school has excellent library facilities with over 48432 volumes of books, comprising references, prescribed texts and popular fiction. The school subscribes to over 14 newspapers which include daily editions as well as student editions, 125 national and international magazines. It is equipped with a computerized data base, enabling the students to have an easy and quick access to the necessary books. The school has memberships of two other international libraries in order to meet the needs of the students whenever in house resources are scarce. 

    The school has various festivals, displays and activities organized from time to time to promote reading. These include reading hour sessions, interaction with authors, author birthday celebrations, literary events, quizzes, summer and winter reading challenges. 

    Well qualified teacher librarians assist these skill developments.

    In order to attract young readers, the library space is upgraded and renovated creating a better learning ambiance and  providing adequate space with bean bags and couches to collaborate, research, learn, share, read and relax.  

  • Audio Visual Theatres and Language Labs

    The school has state-of-the-art Audio-Visual halls, with traditional theatre seating in the Palada Campus and Language Labs of English, French and Hindi. The Audio-Visual Labs have a videopedia procured from Language and Scientific Institutes in various parts of the world that specialize in audio-visual communication systems and techniques, especially those accredited by the British Broadcasting Corporation.

    The benefits of visual stimuli and interactive learning have been more than reinforced through the use of such technology at GSIS.

  • Design Studio

    The study of Design and Technology enables students to build up creativity, problem solving and planning skills.
    The most modern machineries, conforming to the international standards to provide effective teaching and learning , have been set up in all the four Design Technology workshops. The Design studio in the HSS block is equipped with Laser cutting & engraving machine, 3D printer, creative pen tablets and network colour printers.

     

  • Visual Art Studio

    The visual arts are an integral part of everyday life, permeating all levels of human creativity, expression, communication and understanding. They range from traditional forms embedded in local and wider communities, societies and cultures, to the varied and divergent practices associated with new, emerging and contemporary forms of visual language. 

  • Science Labs

    The state of the art laboratories at Good Shepherd International School meet all the international safety and standards of the national and the international curriculum. Three spacious separate labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology are used to infuse a spirit of learning and inquiry in the young minds.  The experiments in the labs helps the student understand  the complex concepts easily ,  giving  them the opportunity to be inquirers  and  facilitating them to explore  the world beyond the books .

  • Mathematics Lab

    Mathematics Lab in HSS block is designed uniquely to enable students to learn, explore mathematical concepts and verify mathematical facts and theorems through a variety of activities using different teaching tools namely Manipulatives, Smart LED panel (E70), Smart Document Camera, TI nspire CX, TI nspire CAS Graphic Display Calculators(GDC),TI nspire Navigators (for conducting instant assessments), Licenced mathematical softwares – Autograph, Geometer’s Sketchpad, Mathtype, Geogebra  etc. The layout of Math Lab is designed in mathematical shapes can accommodate upto 30 students in 6 different tables (5 in each table). This arrangement will facilitate collaborative learning among students.

  • Computer Centre

    Cybernetics and Information Technology have made inroads into academic programmes. We have gone headlong into becoming an IT-savvy school offering Computer Science, Information Technology in a Global Society and other computer courses as prescribed by the curricula on offer in our school. Students have unlimited access to computers and the professional software tools that go with them.

    Our teaching laboratories are equipped with computers all networked to common file servers and connected to the outside world via the internet through leased lines.

  • Examination Hall

    The Examination Hall is at the top level of the new Higher Secondary School block and this will serve as a hall to conduct all board examinations. It can accommodate over 230 students at a time. An adjacent secure storage room is for keeping question papers and other examination materials.

  • Religious Education

    The students live in a secular atmosphere and they are free to practise their own beliefs. Quran classes are held regularly for the Muslim students. In addition, they are given facilities to say their daily prayers five times without affecting the academic schedule. Hindu students attend Gita classes, during which they are taught shlokas and bhajans. Christian students attend the school chapel service and catechism classes on Sundays.
